The new school year has begun and I will be working with the middle school 6th - 8th grade students. Lets have a great year.

October Field Trip

The 6th graders recently took their October field trip to Foresight Farms. During the visit the kids got to see how to milk cattle and all the work that goes into milking. The Foresight Farms dairy setup is much more advanced than what many of the students had ever seen or could have imagined. Overall, the field trip was a big success and the students really enjoyed it.

October Field Trip

The 6th graders will be visiting Forsight Farms next week, October 28th, to see how their milking and farming operation works. The field trip will consist of a tour of the facilities and a chance to ask questions about what all takes place there. Reminder, make sure you are working on all parts of the STAR program so that we can have everyone there together.

Hunter Safety

For the past two weeks the 6th graders have been taking a Hunter Safety course here at North Winneshiek with Larry Reis. The course was very popular with the kids and they worked really hard. To pass the class the students needed to pass a test with 50 questions, overall the majority of the students were successful. Here is a list of the students that have completed and passed Hunter Safety: Tannor Fairchild, Devin Stortz, Cameron Korsness, Hannah Underbakke, Bailey Nagel, Carter Hubka, Winter Bourcier, Collin Tweten, Shelby White, Logan McConnell, Nashia Darling, Kristen Dahl, Richie Blaess, Bailey Hughes, Sawyer White, Cole Horgen, Haley Selness, and Bryce Michels. September STAR Field Trip

Decorah Bank and Trust/Pizza Ranch

Here is a picture of the 6th graders on their tour at Decorah Bank. The students finished their day up with a tour of Pizza Ranch and filled themselves up with a free buffet. Great job on reaching your goals for September.
